It always amazes me how much attention and resources people are willing to devote to the furnishing and ambience inside their homes – and how little attention and resources they are willing to devote to the “welcome mat” or curb appeal outside their homes. After all, you paid for the whole lot – not just the part the home sits on. Why not use all of it?
I graduated from the Chicago Botanic Gardens in 2011 as a certified garden designer and love working with people to provide the best “exterior design” and “furniture”. Outside, you don’t have hardwood or carpeting, you have lawn or ground cover; you don’t have furniture, you have trees and shrubs; you don’t have pictures, you have flowers; not wallpaper but vines; not weeds but mulch. And yes, fresh, organic, and very local vegetables if you wish.
The best design always starts with you.
How will you use your yard? Do you have plants you love? Hate? Colors you love? Hate? Do you want quiet spaces to read and reflect? A big patio for entertaining? A kitchen garden? A water feature? Birdbath? Fire pit? Do you like to spend time gardening – or would you like the low maintenance option where you can simply sit and enjoy the view?
Curb appeal adds value to a home – and welcomes you home every day. Call when you’re ready to put a smile on your home’s face.
